What We Fabricate
Our workshop turns out a wide range of structural and bespoke steel work, including:
Our Steel Fabrication Process
We handle every stage of the project ourselves, covering design, fabrication, finishing and installation,
so your project remains with a single team throughout and is never handed between separate contractors along the way.
Design
We work through the brief with you and design the piece or structure around your site, its access constraints and the load or application it needs to carry. Where drawings already exist we work to them, and where they do not, we produce them.
Fabrication
Once the design is agreed, the item is fabricated in our Retford workshop using mild steel or stainless steel, selected according to the
environment the finished piece
will sit in.
Finishing & Inspection
Each item is inspected before it leaves the workshop, with weld quality and finish checked against the original specification. Galvanising, powder coating and primer paint finishes are all available.
Installation
Our own team carries out the installation, working around existing structures and other trades where required, with the method statement, risk assessment and lift plan signed off in advance of the visit.
On Site Services
Site Welding & Installation
A good share of our work takes place on site. Our welders are coded across MMA, MIG and TIG processes and are experienced in working around live plant, existing structures and whichever other trades are sharing the space that week. Method statements, risk assessments and lift plans are prepared before we travel.
The same core detail can serve a warehouse mezzanine and a residential balcony, with the finish adjusted to match the surroundings.
Plant Repair, Refurbishment & Maintenance
Strengthening existing structures, cutting out and replacing worn or corroded sections, and planned maintenance to keep plant running safely. We have worked extensively in power stations, quarries and process plants, and planned work can usually be scheduled into a shutdown window you already have booked.
Sub Contract Work
Main contractors bring us in as the steel package on a project. We work to your programme, your site rules and your paperwork, and we are used to fitting around trades already established on site.
Materials & Capacity
We work in both mild steel and stainless steel, selecting the material to suit the environment the finished piece will work in. Fabrication capacity runs up to four tonnes, which covers small brackets and larger structural sections alike.
Our experience extends across power stations, quarries, process plants and construction sites, so the standards and site conditions these environments call for are already familiar to our team.
Quality, Inspection & Certification
Every item is inspected before and after fabrication, and our welding team is fully coded across MMA, MIG and TIG processes. Structural steelwork is fabricated under a certified Factory Production Control system to BS EN 1090-1 and supplied UKCA marked, with a declaration of performance provided for each structural item.
This level of checking is what keeps rework and delays off site, which matters a great deal when a project is running to a fixed programme.
